Ear Plucking: When It Helps and When It Doesn't
Not every dog needs ear plucking, but breeds like Poodles, Schnauzers, and Bichons tend to grow hair deep in the ear canal. When that hair builds up, it traps wax and moisture and makes cleaning harder. We do ear pluck services when the hair is actually causing a problem, not just because it's there.
If your dog's ears have been cleaned and plucked before, you've probably noticed they stay cleaner longer. That's the goal. Ears plucked and cleaned together give you the best result because the canal is clear and the solution can do its job.
Trimming Ear Hair as Part of a Full Groom
Trimming ear hair on the outside of the ear is different from plucking inside the canal. We handle both. If you're already coming in for a full groom, ask us to include it.
We'll assess what your dog actually needs and take care of it the same visit. Walk-in only means no scheduling headaches.
Walk-In Ear Cleaning: How It Works
We offer ear cleaning as a walk-in only service at our Chicago IL location. You don't need a full grooming appointment to get your dog's ears cleaned. Come in, we'll get it done, and you're back on your way.
For dogs that get ears cleaned regularly, this makes it easy to stay consistent without blocking off half your day.
